If so, you are most welcome. We are two Churches who work together – Church of The Saviour in Longshaw and St Bartholomew’s on Jack Walker Way, between the Oakdale and Fernhurst Farm estates in Blackburn. Here’s a little about who we are and what we believe. Do come and visit us so we may get to know you too.
We aim to cater for all ages and tastes. With congregations that meet on Friday evenings at 6.30pm in term time at Church of the Saviour, and at four different times on Sundays 8.45am and 11.15am at Church of The Saviour, and 9.30am and 7pm at St Bartholomew’s. As vibrant churches we try to mix traditional worship with modern praise.
We’re excited about the future as we seek know Christ better and make Christ better know, aiming to offer:
A Warm Welcome
Where people matter, because they matter to God, whether they’re sceptics, enquirers or believers.
A Benefice of Two Churches
That loves our town and its people, and serves it as best we can.
A Christian church
where knowing and following Jesus, the one who shows God to us, is what excites and drives us. An Anglican church which holds to the Church of England and joins with the millions who stand in the same tradition around the world.
An Evangelical approach
where God speaks to us as we open up the Bible, and find in its pages power, purpose & God himself. Maybe you’re looking for somewhere to belong, for honest friendships, for somewhere to come and ask questions and work through what life is about. If that’s you, why not come along and join in?
