Sunday School

Zoom Older Sunday School is after the 9.30am service. Our young people have started something called the New City Catechism. We’ll be having a short All Age Slot recapping what they’ve been learning during our service. If you’d like more info, or to download the app. that goes along with the teaching click here: http://newcitycatechism.com/mobile-apps/

This Sunday’s Younger Children’s Activity is attached. It fits with what the older group are doing and can be printed off and done at home. We’re hoping to re-open our creche and children’s groups at St. Bart’s in June. Watch this space for more info!

Friday Live! restarts tomorrow

We will restart Friday Live! on the 23rd April at 6.30pm.

Friday Live! is a short All-Age service including an activity. It’s currently being run in Church of the Saviour Church Hall. If you’d like to come along please get in touch.

Church Electoral Role

This is a bit like saying you’re a ‘member’ of the church. Being on it allows you to vote in the Church’s Annual Meeting on the 23rd May. However, it has no impact on school attendance requirements. If you’re already on the roll, you don’t have to apply again this year.

The Church Electoral Roll will be revised by the PCC, beginning on Sunday 11th April and ending on Sunday 2nd May 2021.

After the revision, a copy of the Roll will be published in the foyer for at least 14 days and a copy of the Roll will be available for inspection on a reasonable request being made to the PCC.

Under the Church Representation Rules any lay person is entitled to have their name entered on the roll if they are –

(a) baptised,

(b) aged 16 or over, and

(c) have made one of three declarations and duly applied for enrolment.

Please contact Chris or Sheila Fielding if you would like an enrolment form.

Reflection

For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;  but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.  What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death.  Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans 7:22-25

We heard last week that to be a Christian is to be in an internal battle! We want to please God as we have the Spirit of God at work within us, but our sinful nature keeps trying to fight back and make us disobey. To be in that battle is a sign that we are Christians. And ultimately we fight on looking forward to the day Jesus returns and makes us perfect forever.

In Christ,

Chris
