Good afternoon,

It was fantastic to see lots of people on Sunday and to open up our children’s groups at St. Bartholomew’s. Thanks to all involved in running these!

Despite the recent government announcement we are still ‘fully open’ which means there is no requirement to book to come along to church. We will still have to maintain social distancing, wear face masks (over 11s) and have no singing or refreshments for the time being.

Parents who are hoping to register their attendance for 2020-21 need to come along in person in June, July and August and sign the attendance register in the foyer. If that is not going to be possible because of health reasons then please get in touch.

Friday Live!

Friday Live! restarts tomorrow as we continue our series by looking at the 10 commandments.

We’re still meeting around family tables in the Church of the Saviour Hall at 6.30 pm for an hour. We’ll be finished in plenty of time for people to get home and watch England vs Scotland if they want!

Creche and Sunday School continue at 9.30 am

The registration form for creche and Sunday school is attached. If you haven’t already, please could parents fill it in and send it back to me/bring it on the day of possible?

Creche: We’re going to try something a bit different in creche now we’re reopening! We’ll get into a circle and do some singing/dancing/instruments to some Christian kids’ songs. We’ll then have a Bible-related story, followed by some colouring for those who want to and time to play with the toys. One parent will need to come in with their child. Adults will need to wear masks, and the number of adults is currently limited to 10. You can book to confirm your place in creche by replying to this email, otherwise, we can’t guarantee there will be enough space in creche on the day.

Sunday School: There are two Sunday School groups. One for younger school-age children (up to Year 5) and one for older children. Under current guidelines over 11s will need to wear masks in church and for Sunday school unless exempt. They will be able to remove masks if Sunday School meets outside. If you’d like any more info please get in touch.

Church Prayer Meeting – Saturday 26th June, 10am

Reflection

Jesus says: ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5

We saw on Sunday that Israel produced bad fruit, despite all the care and love God had given them, and they were facing destruction.

As Christians we can produce ‘good fruit’ by sticking close to Jesus – abiding in Him, depending om Him and remaining in His words. What will it look like for you to ‘remain in’ Jesus?

In Christ,

Chris
