Good afternoon,

This Sunday morning will be the first time in over a year where we’ve been able to celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Communion). What a joy!

For those who would like to, it will involve receiving a wafer dipped in wine and will be done as safely as possible. Please make sure you have a face mask with you. More instructions will be given on Sunday.

If you’ve got any questions, please get in touch.

There won’t be a weekly email for the next couple of weeks so please keep hold of this one.

Community Café at Church of the Saviour

Next term we are planning on running a weekly community café at Church of the Saviour where people are able to drop in for a drink, a slice of cake and a chat. The exact day/time has not yet been decided. We have got a couple of people to run this but would like more volunteers – from either church!  If this is something you might like to help with in any way please get in touch. We are able to offer free Level 2 Food Hygiene, First Aid Training and DBS checks where needed.

Ladies Craft Evening – Wednesday 8th Sept, 7.15 pm at St. Bartholomew’s Church

Come and enjoy an evening of craft, fellowship and hear a guest’s testimony. Refreshments and all materials provided – just bring yourself and why not invite a friend?

£10 per ticket. Please see Sheila or Lisa (or reply to this email) to book a ticket.

Friday Live! restarts – 12th September

We’re aiming to kick of the new school year with a BBQ on Friday 12th September. Put it in the diary, and why not invite some friends along? There’ll be fun and activities as well as food and drink. Let’s pray for good weather!

Toddler Group – Church of the Saviour

As things stand a Toddler Group at Church of the Saviour will not be restarting. Sylvia, who has done an amazing job over the years has decided to stop. We’re so thankful for all her hard work for so long. As we pray for God’s guidance in this over the coming months please get in touch if you have any ideas or offers to help run anything.

Reflection

Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God.

Psalm 43:5

Sometimes we need to have a word with ourselves. That’s what the Psalmist does when suffering spiritual depression. But he doesn’t tell himself – “You’re great.” “You can do it.” “Pull yourself together.”

No. He remember to look outside himself, to someone much greater who can really help. “Put your hope in God.” The cure involves being God-centred, not self-centred.

In Christ,

Chris
