Weekly Chuch Family Church News – 22nd November 2020
The end of lockdown 2.0 is in sight. Keep going! Here’s what’s planned in the Benefice…there’s lots of stuff to get ready for as we look forward to our first Sunday out of lockdown on the 6th December.
During this lockdown Church of the Saviour will be open for private prayer on Mondays and Wednesday from 9am-10am.
A Call to Pray and Give
We continue to pray as we approach our churches gift day on Sunday 6th December. The hope is that we can give to make up the financial shortfall for the year. All money we raise will go towards St. Bartholomew’s or Church of the Saviour (depending on which you choose to give to.)
More details of exactly how to give will be given next week, but for the meantime it’s really important we concentrate on praying. We can:
Give thanks for the good gifts God has given us.
Ask that God will give us generous hearts that value Jesus above all else.
Pray God would be pleased to provide our churches with more than we need so we in turn can be generous.
Pray that as churches and individuals we would use our money wisely and for the gospel to go out.
Bible verses you might want to reflect on as you pray:
1 Timothy 6:6-19
2 Corinthians 9:6-11
We will be having a Zoom Prayer Meeting on Thursday 26th November at 7.30pm to pray specifically for our financial situation. Please join us using the code below:
We’re collecting items for Christmas Hampers which will be handed out to our CAP clients in time for Christmas. Please can items be dropped off during private prayer at Church of the Saviour, or to 1 Whelan Close (BB2 4FX) before 6th Dec or during our church services on Sun 6th Dec.
Our annual ‘Toy service’ will be happening at the start of December. We’re asking people to donate new, unwrapped presents. These toys will be collected through the school or can be dropped off at church on the 6th. They will then be handed over to ‘Secret Santa’ and given to families who need them in BwD.
