Weekly Church Family News October 9th 2020

We had a great time celebrating Harvest last week. Thanks to all those who joined us and contributed. Between the Just Giving page and other donation we’ve raised a total of £610 for our Harvest charity Tearfund. Amazing!

Here’s what’s coming up this week:

Please note, that if you attend the church building you will need to get in touch to book and we will need to keep a record of your attendance and contact details for NHS Track and Trace purposes.

Please join us using the same zoom code as the morning service (see above). We’ll also aim to Livestream the service to YouTube for those who are unable to access zoom. You should be able to watch by clicking the link here: shorturl.at/enuT4

Sunday School

Sunday school will be restarting on Zoom this week after the 9.30 am service. Please get in touch if you haven’t already registered.

Given the increase in coronavirus infections and the local lockdown, we have decided not to restart Sunday School in church during the service any time soon. Families may want to consider a few other options:

1) Carry on joining us online from home and making use of the attached activity sheet and Zoom Sunday School.

2) Joining us at church. We can put out a table for your family to sit at and for your children to do activities at. Please get in touch if you’d like to explore this as an option.

3) Joining Friday Live! at 6.30-7.30pm on Friday evenings in the Saviour Church Hall. More info below.

Friday Live!

Our all age Friday Live! service is continuing on Fridays at 6.30 pm in the hall of Church of the Saviour. Each family unit sits around their own table as we do an activity; hear a short talk; watch a video; pray; learn a memory verse; share news, and do a craft. If you would like more info, reply to this email.

We’ll be having our Annual Parochial Church Meetings during the notice slot in our services on the 25th October. We’ve got a great booklet summarising all that we did at a church last year which will be sent out next week. During the APCM we’ll approve the church accounts, elect churchwardens and may elect PCC members.

Secondary School Applications

I’m aware that some schools will be asking parents to fill in application forms indicating their attendance at church. Please could you get in touch with me before ticking any boxes so I can check our records and we can ensure you tick the appropriate box? Please could you get Wilfred’s application forms (Supplementary Information Form) to me by Thursday 15th October?

Deuteronomy is 8ish minutes

It’s back! The fifth book of the Bible summarised here: https://youtu.be/dCYP99aK1s8

Consider carefully what you hear, [Jesus] continued. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you and even more.

Mark 4:24

Last week we saw how important it is to listen to Jesus. Without listening carefully, we’ll never bear fruit for God! But listening also leads to action and leads to even greater blessing…adoption into God’s family! Find out more on Sunday.
