Private Prayer at Church of the Saviour

During this lockdown Church of the Saviour will be open for private prayer on Mondays and Wednesday from 9am-10am.

A Call to Pray and Give

Over the next three weeks churches all over the diocese will be having a prolonged period of prayer followed by a church gift day on Sunday 6th December. The hope is that we can make up the financial shortfall we have due to less money being given over lockdown and being unable to raise money from our Christmas Fairs. All money we raise will go towards St. Bartholomew’s or Church of the Saviour (depending on which you choose to give to.)

In the run up to this gift day, please can I encourage everyone to pray and consider how much they can give to the work of the churches. There’s an opportunity to join a diocese prayer meeting every evening at 7pm. Email me for the code.  More info about this initiative can be found here: https://www.blackburn.anglican.org/call-to-pray-and-give-from-november-12

Friday Live!

Sadly Friday Live! will not be able to run in November. If you usually come to Friday Live! why not join us online on Sunday morning instead? Please get in touch if you’d like your children to join the Sunday School.

Advent Books

We’ve sold all 50 of our advent books, plus some family craft books. They should be arriving this week so I’ll be in touch. 😊

Reflection

In last weeks passage Jesus had just heard that His cousin John had been beheaded. He wanted some peace and quiet with His disciples to get some rest but the crowds wouldn’t leave Him alone. What was His response?

When Jesus landed and saw the crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
Mark 6:34

What sacrificial kindness!  And Jesus gives them what they need most – His word. Are we listening to The Good Shepherd?

In Christ,

Chris
