Seeking to know Christ better and to make Christ better known

Dear church family and friends,

In light of the recent easing of lockdown restriction, we’re slightly changing things at church.

Many things will stay the same for now. We’ll continue to keep the buildings ventilated, and have distance between seats. There will still be no refreshments for the time being and the collection plate will not be passed around (donation box and contactless giving available.) We ask that people continue to register for NHS Track and Trace, sanitise heands, and wear masks when entering and moving around the building.

However, please feel free to remove your mask when sat down. We will start to reintroduce congregational singing and plan on having a (slightly altered) communion service in August. For those who are not comfortable taking their mask off/sitting near unmasked people, there will be a part of church where people can wear masks throughout the service. Please talk to a warden/welcomer if this is where you’d like to sit.

If you’ve got any question, please get in touch.

Hello and a warm welcome to the Benefice of the Redeemer in Blackburn. It’s great you’ve come to our website and we hope you’ll spend a few minutes to explore.

We’re two Church of England churches, St. Bartholomew’s and The Church of the Saviour in Blackburn, who work together with one vicar and a team of others to serve God together. We offer services accessible to a wide range of people, with five different styles of service across the week. The congregations who attend are from a variety of ages and backgrounds, some have been Christians for a long time and others are just finding out about the Christian faith. Our aim is to know Christ better and make Christ better known.

If you’re new, there is a very special Welcome to you and here may be a good place to start exploring our site.  Everyone is welcome at both Churches and no one excluded so it would be wonderful to see you at one of our services. Exploring this website should help you to find a service suitable for you, and give you some idea of what you might expect when you visit us.  Do please come and join us.
