Hello,
Spring is here! As new life springs up this time of year, it always reminds me of the run-up to Easter of the resurrection hope and new life we’re all offered in Jesus.
Here’s what’s coming up on the approach to Easter.
Sunday Services
9.30am – St. Bartholomew’s and Zoom
11.15am – Church of the Saviour
7pm – Zoom only
The Zoom code for our Sunday services is below:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/347838844
Meeting ID: 347 838 844
Or you can watch later on our YouTube account: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYbYhMFD15VTb_QVchA6OXQ
As always, it would be helpful if you could let me know you’re planning on coming.
There will be no Sunday School this week or next due to the school holidays…but our services will be child-friendly.
Easter Egg Collection
A bit late notice, but we’ll be collecting Easter Eggs which will be distributed to those who might not get one. Any donated eggs can be brought to church this Sunday morning or dropped off at 2 Kendall Close by Monday morning (29th).
Easter Windows – Follow the trail around the estate
Our Easter Story Trail around the Fernhurst and Oakdale estates is nearly here.
Houses around the estate have volunteered to decorate their windows creating a trail to tell the Easter story. At each house there’ll be a visual display, a Bible verse and a letter to note down. If you collect all the letters you get a goody bag at the final house!
This will be live from Maundy Thursday (1st April) to Easter Sunday (4th April) (although I won’t be home to give prizes whilst I’m at the church services).
A trail map is attached to this email. Make sure you do it in order. Please share this with others and why not meet up with another household to do the trail together?
Easter Services
Maundy Thursday (1st April) 8pm on Zoom
Good Friday (2nd April) 11am at Bart’s and on Zoom
Easter Sunday (4th April) All Age Sunday Services as usual
The Prophets – Jeremiah
Here it is in less than 8 minutes. A wonderful reminder of the change God can bring about in a believers heart.
Reflection
Therefore no-one will be declared righteous in [God’s] sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
Romans 3:20
Last Sunday we dispelled the myth that Christianity is about doing good things to earn our way to heaven. None of us are able to make ourselves righteous before God – we’re all guilty sinners deserving judgement.
That’s why this Sunday’s message is such good news! Join us on Sunday morning to find out how God is able to make guilty-sinners righteous.
In Christ,
Chris
