Seeking to know Christ better and to make Christ better known

Dear church family and friends, from Sunday 5th July 2020 we will be running our 9.30am service at St Bartholomew’s and our 11.15am service at Church of The Saviour each week with limited numbers meeting in the church building. If you wish to attend the service in the church building you will need to contact us, preferably by the Thursday before, so we have time to see if we can accommodate you. The 9.30am service will be available at the same time on livestream via the Zoom internet platform – to join in just click the link above. A recording will be made available on YouTube later in the day. A recorded sermon will be made available on our website each week instead of our Sunday @7 service. Just click the YouTube link above and use the ‘videos’ tab to see all the recordings available. As those united by Christ, it’s great to meet together. For those who prefer to use the telephone rather than join in activities online you can still dial into the Sunday morning services live by telephone at 9.30am each Sunday if you wish. Just contact us for instructions or assistance.

Most of our activities are continuing to meet online (apart from our Toddler Groups and Rainbows, Brownies and Guides). We are still holding Sunday services, Sunday School, ‘Friday Live!’, Bible Study/Fellowship Groups, Ladies Group and occasional Men’s events via Zoom.

Do contact us if you need assistance, especially of a spiritual nature.

Hello and a warm welcome to the Benefice of the Redeemer in Blackburn. It’s great you’ve come to our website and we hope you’ll spend a few minutes to explore.

We’re two Church of England churches, St. Bartholomew’s and The Church of the Saviour in Blackburn, who work together with one vicar and a team of others to serve God together. We offer services accessible to a wide range of people, with five different styles of service across the week. The congregations who attend are from a variety of ages and backgrounds, some have been Christians for a long time and others are just finding out about the Christian faith. Our aim is to know Christ better and make Christ better known.

If you’re new, there is a very special Welcome to you and here may be a good place to start exploring our site.  Everyone is welcome at both Churches and no one excluded so it would be wonderful to see you at one of our services. Exploring this website should help you to find a service suitable for you, and give you some idea of what you might expect when you visit us.  Do please come and join us.

Benefice Prayer Morning

The Benefice will meet for prayer on the Saturday 11th November at 9:30 am for breakfast (provided) and social time. Prayer will commence at 10 am and conclude with an Act of Remembrance at 11 am.

It would be great to see as many there as possible.
